Woodworking Technology Days 2025
Woodworking Technology Days (WTD 2025) returns this fall as Canada’s premier event for woodworking machinery and automation. Hosted by the CWMDA, the four-day showcase connects manufacturers, suppliers, and innovators across nine showrooms in Mississauga, Brampton, and Cambridge.
Expect live demonstrations of CNCs, robotics, software, tooling, and finishing technologies from leading brands like Biesse, HOMAG, IMA Schelling, SCM, Felder, Holzher/Weinig, Taurus Craco and Normand. Unlike crowded trade shows, WTD offers a focused environment for real conversations — helping you solve production challenges, explore automation, and find practical ways to grow.
If you’re serious about efficiency, innovation, or scaling your woodworking operation, this is the event to attend.
Show Highlights
Akhurst Machinery
Akhurst Machinery is highlighting budget-friendly machinery including edgebanders, CNC machines with labeling capabilities, various solid wood machinery for dovetailing, joiners, and planers. The highlight for me is Akhurst’s robotic sanding equipment that can automatically sand cabinet doors.

Holzher-Weinig
Holzher-Weinig is displaying an array of woodworking machinery. One of the highlights is the new Glu Jet 725 PUR PRO automatic edgebander: incorporates patented vacuum technology to remove air/moisture from the PUR glue system, allowing the glue to remain ready-to-use for up to a week (no daily purging) and delivering waterproof, invisible joints at high quality.
The Linea 6015 pressure-beam saw: designed for panel processing with top-quality precision cuts, featuring linear guides, scoring head, air-cushioned table and options for marking and grooving
The WEINIG Solid Profile P500 moulder (under the WEINIG/HOLZ-HER umbrella): built for high-performance profiling and moulding, up to 260 mm width and feed speeds of up to ~30m/min, designed for heavy use

Biesse Canada
At their new Material Hub in Vaughan, Ontario, Biesse Canada will spotlight several advanced manufacturing solutions.
Key highlights include:
- CNC Nesting & 5-Axis Machining: Flexible, high-precision equipment designed for parts production and complex components. Woodworking Network+1
- Automated Edgebanding Systems: High-throughput edge-application machines offering consistent quality and reduced labour input. Woodshop News Magazine+1
- MDF & Veneer Door Sanding Solutions: Advanced finishing systems to deliver superior surface quality on engineered door parts. Woodworking Network
- bSuite Software / Workflow Integration: Digital tools that link design, planning and production—enabling smarter factory-flows. Biesse+1
- Live Cabinet Production Line Demonstration: From programming through to cutting, dowelling, edge application – a full end-to-end flow to show real world production. Woodworking Network
- Multi-Material Manufacturing Focus: Not just wood — systems capable of processing stone, glass, polymers, composites and metal are part of the offering via their Material Hub concept

HOMAG Canada
HOMAG presents a “fully automated cell with Storeteq storage, Centateq nesting CNC, Automatech robot, Drillteq, and Edgeteq edgebander — all operable by one person.” In particular, HOMAG Canada is showcasing
- End-to-end automation: From board storage (Storeteq), nesting and CNC machining (Centateq), robotic automation (Automatech), drilling/dowel insertion (Drillteq) to edge-banding (Edgeteq).
- Single-operator efficiency: The system is designed to reduce labour costs by enabling a one-person cell.
- High flexibility & throughput: Nesting CNC plus robotic handling opens up capabilities for both high-volume production and more complex custom work.
- Integrated workflow: These machines likely interface via HOMAG’s software ecosystem, enabling smoother transitions between steps.

IMA – Schelling Group
IMA Schelling Group is showcasing at Woodworking Technology Days 2025
Edgebanding using PUR glue: They host demos and workshops focused on the “tricks of the trade” for edgebanding with PUR adhesives.
Automation of the full production flow: They explore automated workflows covering board storage → cutting/nesting → edgebanding → drill/dowel → sorting, using their interactive software application.
Additional topics: They are also on hand to discuss various edge-types & glues for edgebanding, CNC contour edgebanding, and beam saw cutting.

Taurus Craco
At the Woodworking Technology Days 2025 event, Taurus Craco is highlighting the following key capabilities:
Industry 4.0 & Smart Factory Integration – Solutions that connect machinery, software and automation for greater production intelligence.
Robotic Solutions & Automation – Automated handling, feeding or processing systems suited for wood manufacturing, stone fabrication and advanced materials
Edgebanders / Bonding Applications – High-performance edgebanding and adhesive bonding systems tailored for cabinetry, casegoods and store-fixture environments.
Live Demonstrations in Their Showroom – Located at 278 Orenda Rd, Brampton, their upgraded space is used during the event for hands-on demos of machinery and workflows.

SCM Canada
SCM Canada is showcasing during the Woodworking Technology Days (WTD) event in Mississauga, ON.
